Peppermint Milkshake

Use up those leftover candy canes in a sweet peppermint milkshake.
Serves: 2 shakes
For the Milkshake:
  • 3 candy canes
  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ½ cup milk (2% preferred)
For the Whipped Cream:
  • 2 cups cold heavy cream
  • 1¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 candy canes, crushed
  1. First, make your whipped cream. Whip together the powdered sugar, cream and vanilla until soft peaks form, about 5 minutes. Add more cream if too thick or more powdered sugar if too thin. Refrigerate the whipped cream until ready to use. Crush your candy canes, as these will be used as a garnish, and set aside.
  2. In a blender, pulse your 3 candy canes until they form fine pieces. Add in the ice cream and milk and blend until smooth. Pour the shakes into cold glasses, then top with a dollop of whipped cream and some crushed candy canes.
